Many home sellers are advised to stage their homes prior to having it shown to potential buyers. However, professional staging can be expensive. Is it worth the cost?

The goals of staging are:

Allow buyers to imagine themselves living in your home;

Show off your home’s best features while diverting attention away from its flaws;

Create a mood;

Make the home look better in listing photos and videos.

All of my sellers receive a complimentary initial walkthrough of their homes by a professional stager, courtesy of ME. The stager will provide suggestions in terms of placement of furniture, colors, and decorations. If my sellers wish to hire the stager to actually do all of the work, they may do so on their own.

Remember that the main purpose of staging is to provide buyers with a more favorable impression of your home’s livability, which can help it sell FASTER! And the faster it sells, the more money you, the seller, save in the end.

Remember that staging can’t cover up major cosmetic issues, peeling paint, broken tiles, etc. You’ll want to make sure your home is in the best possible condition before you hire a stager in order to get the most value for your money.
